Retainer Wear

  • We want you to wear your retainers all day the first 2 days, then to night wear only.
  • Do not eat, drink, or chew gum with your retainers in.
  • Do not flip your retainers with your tongue.
  • When cleaning your retainers, use cool soapy water and a toothbrush.
  • Do not use toothpaste, as it will scratch the retainers.
  • Everytime you take your retainers out of your mouth - put them in your case. If you have a dog they will eat them (This is the #1 reason for replacement) because they are clear - they are easy to lose. Don't wrap them in a napkin when eating or they will be thrown away.
  • Don't put them in your pocket - If they go through the washer and dryer - it will distort them.
  • Bring your retainers to each visit.
  • To replace your retainers it will cost you $200.00. This is why it is so important not to lose or break them.
  • Retainers are forever. It is very important that you follow our instructions. Thank You!!

Positioner Wear Instructions

Your instructions for wearing your positioner are as follows:
  1. The first 3 days you will be wearing your positioner full time; this includes day and night time. Take it out to eat and drink ONLY.
  2. You will need to do clenching exercises every 30 minutes.
    1. Clenching is to squeeze down and hold for 10 seconds, then let up for 10 seconds, repeat this process 10 times every 30 minutes.
You may experience a little soreness with the jaw muscles, this is completely normal.
  3. After the 3 days of full time wear you will move to part time wear. Pick 3 hours you are awake so you can do clenching exercises with the positioner in and then wear it to bed every night.

This is a $200 appliance so make sure you know where it is at all times.

Animals love it so if you have pets at home keep it in the case and up out of their reach at all times.

It is plastic so it can and will melt if you expose it to heat, i.e. the dryer, a hot car, etc...

You will need to clean your positioner daily. Use soap, water and a soft tooth brush. No toothpaste.

You can not wear your positioner too much, but you can wear it too little. The more you wear it the better.
